We got up at 3:15AM and drove down to Indiantown. We arrived at the marina to see the boat at around 7:10 and use the facilities. I then hear... "What the F*$#..." I exited the facilities and went looking for Andy only to find out that he received a text (didn't hear it on the phone) at 6:10am that stated the driver would not be meeting us as confirmed to pick up the boat, provided us with an alternate driver who maybe able to do it in a couple of days and wished us luck. Seriously, you couldn't pick up the phone and call us? Then he proceeded to ignore our attempts for phone calls, text and email response. So we left a message for the alt driver and waited for the office at the marina to open up. They didn't have availability with the travel lift for the next couple of days as they were over booked. In the meantime, we needed to have the boat at the new marina in 24 hours or risk loosing our spot. (There was a waiting list to get into this marina.)
What an exciting time over the next couple of days. The jeep is loaded up with items that are going on the boat and they will go for a ride tomorrow to Stuart, FL to pick up the Mast at the indoor storage and then to Indiantown to become one with Free Spirit. All will be placed on a transport for shipping up to the Marina in Palmetto, FL.
Updates that ended for March have been slow as we are waiting for several things to happen. I am pleased to announce that there has finally been some unexpected and pleasant movement for this month regarding SV-Free Spirit.
We made it down to the DIY yard at Indiantown Marina for a long weekend to start some work needed on SV-Free Spirit. We had a long list of projects to work on this weekend and while we didn't complete all that was on "my list" we did get quit a bit completed and the progress makes us feel great. There were some highs and some lows. It was exciting to watch them move her from the storage lot to the DIY yard. They were so careful and it was a simple process.
We have wish list for items needed to help bring this boat back to life. If you wish to help us save her, we have an ever evolving list of items needed.
