Well today is the day that we have to prepare for the impending hurricane. Based on model reviews, the hurricane has a large swath path however, the greater Tampa Bay appears to be either below it or right in the middle of it. There is just no telling with these things. It's currently a Cat 2/3 and appears that it could even become a cat 4 in the coming days.
We are on a floating dock which is good. We took today to tear down anything that could become loose or a projectile in the storm. We started with removing the 2 main sails (but we just got them put up!), tied up dingleberry to the deck, removed the grill, dodger and Bimini. Tied down the frames for the canvas and super tied down the Mizen mast and the boom. Secured the engine to the boat for dingleberry, emptied the refrigerator and took anything off the boat that we couldn't stand to lose.
Finally, we disconnected from shore power and ensured that all dock and spring lines were secured and doubled up.

In our hearts, we are preparing to loose her and everything that we have worked so hard to build. We are limited with insurance and can only carry liability because she doesn't have any working systems (yet). We've done all we can for now and hope and pray that she will survive. They are talking storm surge possible of to 18 feet, which means the dock and all boats will have come off the dock and all float away together. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
