On to a new month, what a busy one its slated to be….. but life seemed to have other plans in store for us…
As it turned out, both of us got sick and while it wasn’t Covid it was pretty bad, we both had fevers and you know it’s serious if we both call in sick to work because we both are the most stable and reliable people for our employers. We have aches/pains, chills and high fevers. Couldn’t eat much of anything so it was a soup diet for about a week for the both of us. It took about a solid week for us to at least to start feeling better.
We both wound up missing the boat and went out after work for dinner and sunset view. Seems like so long since we were able to do this. We also formulated a game plan to get back on track. Remember the generator gets installed the week of 3/11 so we still have a bunch of fiberglass work to do before the shelf can get in. That is going to be the main priority. Once that is done, we have a long list of items to get done as we attempt to get Ms Free Spirit cruise ready! We can feel she is itching to leave the dock so some shake down cruises will be planned for May. The weather and water should be much better by then.
We did manage to at least get the new shelf in for the hot water heater and battery to be moved to. We got it all into place and put 2 layers of bilge paint. Next is to drain and move the hot water heater to its new permanent location.
We did take the dinghy out for a quick exploration trip with George, our Caviler King Charles Spaniel who apparently didn’t care that the water temp was 66 degress. He was having a ball in the water and I tried as best as I could to not let him get out too far because I didn’t want to go swimming for him if he got carried off by the current.
We also did issue the final approval for our spinnaker to be completed and we have an estimated delivery date for End of March. Our dear friends also left the dock for their winter/spring and partial summer cruising season so we did have a wonderful Bon Voyage party for them!
