Let me first say there is just never enough time in the day to keep up on everything. I am so sorry this is so far delayed so I am doing one huge dump of photos from November and a list out the things that we were able to accomplish. Let me say that I am so happy with the progress that has been done to date.
We got the following items completed:
We were able to get water to the boat, installed the poop tank, installed a fully functioning toilet, installed counter tops in the galley, installed the water heater, installed more lights to the salon and the captain’s quarters, added LED lights to the booze locker and under the cabinets in the galley, added the fill tube for the water to be brought into the boat from the deck above, took apart the windlass and inspected that for repairs, gave the boat some creature comforts of a seating in the cockpit with all new cushions, installed cushions in the settie and made a bunch of pillows for seating. We also installed a TV in the salon and new electric outlets in the Salon and master stateroom. Added beds to the captains quarters and blankets for the pups to sleep comfortably.
Nancy is now able to cook meals inside as we have a heating plate, skillet and crockpot. We are complete enough now that we can spend overnight and weekends on the boat . So on weekends when we don’t have the kids, you can find us spending the entire weekend on the boat.
The dogs were slowly introduced to the boat a few times and now they love it and enjoy being at the dock and sleeping on the boat with us.
We have done one sailing for the day with the kids. They don’t particularly care for it so I don’t think they will be traveling with us. We have had a couple of dock parties and watched the Christmas boat parade travel down the ICW from our dock.
We did have to prepare for a late in the season tropical storm. We secured the boat however, this time we didn’t take down any of the sails. We do head to the boat frequently in the evening after work and it’s getting harder and more difficult to leave the boat as we both just want to stay on and start our sailing journey.
We have laid out our plans for the next year with a complete list of projects that we hope to have completed by the end of next year. We honestly need the boat completed a little more so we can start potentially start our sailing soon. We need to do a longer shake down cruise to see what still needs to be done before we can completely throw the lines.
Stay tuned for more updates to follow in the next coming weeks.
